Description

BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Responsible for land work including assembly of data connected with rental calendars, verification of brokers’ drafts and assisting with the checking of public records. Utilize SPR’s land system to enter document information and produce quality reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Interpret documents regarding conveyance of property in regards to land, minerals and well ownership
• Negotiate access to surface, pay surface damages and prepare surface use agreements and rights of way agreements with federal, state, Indian and fee surface owners
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with other companies
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with federal, state, Indian, fee surface and mineral owners on SPR properties
• Work with outside lawyers and brokers relative to ownership rights on SPR’s leasehold
• Support SPR regulatory in obtaining permits from county, state and federal agencies to allow SPR to meet drilling and production commitments
• Contribute to SPR’s strategic plan through the maintenance of effective coordination, cooperation and communication with SPR team members and government regulatory bodies
• Prepare notice lists for a variety of state and other regulatory applications, including spacing, force pooling, etc.
• Travel as needed to accomplish responsibilities of position
• Coordinate with SPR drafting to map and track competitor leasing trends, targeted acreage for leasehold acquisition and coordinate review of same with SPR exploration/development team.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Land Management or other relevant major
• 1-3 year’s oil and gas experience, preferably with experience in a legal or land environment
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with high initiative
• Must be disciplined and organized and have skills to look at opportunities with bottom line oriented thinking
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and persuasive skills
• Must have a high drive to succeed and be innovative with the ability to bring ideas to positive resolution
• Must have proficiency using word processing, spreadsheet, and other PC software
