I am a licensed attorney with a well-rounded background in land work. I am seeking to obtain employment with an oil and gas company as a land and legal specialist. I am very familiar with all types of oil and gas agreements due to my work as a title attorney. I have worked for two law firms during which time I read and interpreted oil and gas leases, unit declarations, joint operating agreements, farmout agreements, and mineral, royalty and leasehold interest conveyances. I possess an excellent understanding of the various types of mineral and royalty interests in addition to the rules and regulations of the Texas Railroad Commission. I drafted high quality title opinions that set forth the ownership of the surface and minerals and clearly explained the title defects, the applicable laws and the necessary curative measures. As a result, I can handle your title work, due diligence, division orders and title curative. I can also handle your leasing needs due to my experience as a landman with an E&P company. Prior to that, I managed a crew of landmen at a land services company where my responsibilities included training and overseeing landmen, conducting performance reviews and weekly meetings and improving the quality and efficiency of the company’s work product.
